Birthday and Holiday Celebrations

BIRTHDAYS:

We recognize that a student’s birthday and/or holidays can be big events in their young lives. In accordance with School Board Policy, Woodland is required to ensure that all foods served meet the requirements of the district’s nutrition policy. To honor your child, we will give your student a birthday card and pencil and your child’s teacher will announce his/her birthday in class.

If you want to make your student’s day special, you can organize a non-edible gift(s) for the class with the teacher. Ideally, your child will bring his/her favorite book to read to the class. Erasers, a book for the class library, pencils, or other non-edible gifts will allow us to meet board policy and still have the day be special.

HOLIDAYS AND PARTIES:

There will be parties and celebrations throughout the year. Your child’s teacher will help organize those parties. For those parties, only food that meets the current Reynolds School Board Policy will be allowed. Your teacher will communicate those guidelines with you.

QUICK ANSWERS:

Can I bring food for my child’s birthday celebration?

Not unless it meets Reynolds School Board Policy. As a general rule, fresh fruit/vegetables that are individually wrapped in serving sizes are acceptable. All else should be left at home.

Can I eat lunch with my child for his/her birthday?

Yes, you can.

If I want to bring a gift for the class on my child’s birthday, what do I need to do?

You must coordinate with the teacher ahead of time, and the gift must follow Reynolds School Board Policy.

Does my child’s birthday need to be honored?

No. If you prefer that your child’s birthday not be honored, please let the front office know.

Can I bring candy to celebrate parties and holidays?

No

Celebración de Cumpleaños y Fiestas 

CUMPLEAÑOS:

Nosotros reconocemos que los cumpleaños y las fiestas pueden ser un gran evento en sus jóvenes vidas. De acuerdo al reglamento de la Junta Escolar, se require que Woodland se asegure que todas las comidas que se sirvan cumplan los requisitos del Departamento de Nutrición  del Distrito. Para homenajear a su hijo le daremos una Tarjeta de Cumpleaños , un lapiz y la maestra de su hijo/a anunciará su cumpleaños en el salón de clase. 

Si Ud. quiere que su estudiante tenga un día especial, puede organizar regalos no comestibles para los alumnos de la clase con la maestra.  Algo ideal puede ser que su hijo/a traiga su libro favorito para leelo en la clase. Borradores, un libro para la biblioteca del salón, lápices u otra  cosa. Regalos no comestibles nos permitirán cumplir con el reglamento de la Junta Directiva y continuar teniendo un día especial.

FIESTAS Y CELEBRACIONES

Tendremos fiestas y celebraciones a lo largo del año. La maestro de sus hijos ayudará a organizar éstas fiestas. Para esas fiestas solo tendremos comida aprobada por el reglamento de la Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Reynolds. Sus maestros le comunicarán las reglas a seguir.

RESPUESTAS RAPIDAS

Puedo traer comida para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi hijo/a?

NO amenos que cumpla los requisitos establecidos por la Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Reynolds. Una regla general puede ser frutas o vegetales empacados de manera individual en tamaño para el consumo individual.

Puedo comer el almuerzo con mi hijo/a el día de su cumpleaños?

Si puede.

Si quiero traaer un regalo para la clase de mi hijo en su cumpleaños , qué necesito hacer?

Ud. deberá coordinar con el maestro por adelantado y el regalo deberá seguir las normaas de la Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Reynolds.

Necesita mi hijo/a ser homenajeado en su cumpleaños?

No. Si Ud. asi lo prefiere por favor avise a la oficina.
