Founded in 2009, African Youth & Community Organization (AYCO) is a culturally specific, community-based nonprofit organization led by and for the East African immigrant and refugee community in the Portland Metropolitan Area. The UPLIFT program supports youth through various programs such as academic support, athletic programs, summer programs, and mentorship. Our mission is to bridge the gap between youth, schools, and parents by ensuring that youth and families have the best possible support as they navigate our complex educational systems.
